COALITION PARTICIPANTS
Kentucky’s Mighty Wurlitzer-Theatre Organ Project, Inc, (KMW-TOP, Inc) a not-for-profit, tax-exempt Kentucky corporation, will provide design, funds, restoration and reinstallation consultants, maintenance, fund-raising activities, programs and organists for the theatre organ and equipment for the benefit, education and cultural enrichment of the public.
The University of Kentucky (UK) received the theatre organ from Oscar Wilson in November 1989, prior to his death in May 1993. The University has provided the organ to KMW-TOP, Inc for restoration, modification and reinstallation in the Kentucky Theater.
The Lexington Fayette Urban-County Government (LFUCG) owns and maintains the Kentucky Theater where KMW-TOP, Inc will reinstall the theatre organ. A management contract is maintained between the LFUCG and Kentucky Theatre Group, Inc for daily operation of the Kentucky and State Theaters.
The Kentucky Theater Group, Inc (KTG) was established in April 1992, to manage the historic Kentucky and State Theaters. Organized by Analy Scorsone, Howard Stovall and Fred Mills, the KTG is a "for-profit", independent company, which offers mainstream films, art-house films and concerts at popular prices.
The Coalition parties executed the Project Agreement on December 17, 2002.
